24:28. Ignition lock cylinder

Removal
Establish car wheels for the movement directly forward.
Remove switches of a steering column.
On cars with the automatic transmission disconnect a cable from the selector lever lock, turn a key in the lock of ignition and remove a cable.
Move the selector lever to situation P.
Turn a key in the ignition lock in situation In ("Ignition on") (fig. 18-53).

Remove the lever of 1 lock of ignition and disconnect a cable 2, having pulled it from the ignition lock case.
Performance of the following operations on removal of the cylinder of the lock of ignition requires the ignition key with the flat handle (without illumination or the transmitter of remote control).
Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation "Ignition on", at the same time the opening in an ignition lock cylinder end face has to be visible.

Insert a steel core with a diameter about 1,5 mm into an opening against the stop and take out the cylinder from the case of the lock of ignition (fig. 18-54).

Installation
Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation "Ignition on". Insert a steel core with a diameter about 1,5 mm against the stop into an opening and install the cylinder in the ignition lock case.
Press against the stop the lock cylinder with a key.
Take out a steel core and press the lock cylinder before its fixing by a latch.
Install switches of a steering column
