2.6. Discharge of water from the fuel filter of the diesel V6 TDI engine
Remove a casing on the right side of a motor compartment.

Unscrew a stopper of 1 opening for removal of water from the fuel filter (see fig. 2-14).
Do not allow hit of diesel fuel on cooling system hoses. Hoses which the long time influenced diesel fuel need to be replaced.

Connect a hose of the manual vacuum pump V.A.G 1390 with the container equipped with the crane for discharge of V.A.G 1390/1 water to an opening on the fuel filter (fig. 2-15).
The vacuum pump pump out about 100 cm3 of liquid from the fuel filter.
Disconnect a hose of the manual vacuum pump from an opening for removal of water on the fuel filter.
Screw in a stopper in the fuel filter and tighten its moment 4 N · m.
Launch the engine and check lack of leaks in fuel system.
