21:18. Pumping of the hydraulic drive of brakes
Use only the fresh DOT 4 brake fluid.
Pumping of the brake system is carried out with use of the block of pumping of V.A.G 1869. Connect the pumping block according to the instruction for application.
Remove a dustproof cap from the union of pumping of a support, clear it and put on it one end of a pure transparent hose, lower other its end in the capacity which is partially filled with brake fluid. Capacity has to be not less than 300 mm above the pumping union. Thanks to it hit of air in a support through a pumping union carving is prevented.
Unscrew half way the union of pumping of the corresponding brake support and wait until of the union does not go out brake fluid without vials of air then screw up the pumping union.
Carry out pumping of brakes in the following sequence:
1 – back right support of a brake;
2 – back left support of a brake;
3 – forward right support of a brake;
4 – forward left support of a brake.
On cars with electronic system of stabilization (ESP) carry out pumping of brakes in the following sequence:
1 – back left support of a brake;
2 – forward right support of a brake;
3 – back right support of a brake;
4 – forward left support of a brake.
Replacement of brake fluid (each 2 years)
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from air) therefore the liquid which is stored a long time in open ware is not recommended to be used.
Brake fluid should not contact with mineral oils. Even a small amount of mineral oil does unsuitable brake fluid for use in the brake system.
Use only the fresh DOT 4 brake fluid.
Replace brake fluid by means of V.A.G 1869 pumping block. Connect the pumping block according to the instruction for application.
Open a compensation tank of hydraulic system of brakes and fill it with brake fluid to exclude hit of air in the brake system from a tank.
Remove a dustproof cap from the union of pumping of a back right support, clear it and put on it one end of a pure transparent hose, lower other its end in the capacity which is partially filled with brake fluid.
Launch the engine and unscrew on several turns the pumping union on a support of brakes. Pressing a brake pedal, force out brake fluid from a compensation tank until the level of liquid does not fall to the place of connection of a hose of supply of liquid to coupling.
Collect the following liquid in a container. Screw up the pumping union.
Connect the pumping block according to the instruction for use of the block of pumping of V.A.G 1869.
On cars with the mechanical transmission install a pure transparent hose on the union of pumping of the working cylinder of coupling, unscrew the union on several turns and merge about 100 cm3 of brake fluid. Screw up the pumping union.
Consistently perform further operations on the following supports:
1 – back right;
2 – back left;
3 – forward right;
4 – forward left.
Remove a dustproof cap from the union of pumping of a support, clear it and put on it a pure transparent hose, lower other its end in the capacity which is partially filled with brake fluid.
Unscrew the union of pumping on several turns and merge about 250 cm3 of brake fluid.
The arriving fresh brake fluid washes away the remains of old brake fluid in a hydraulic contour of the brake system.
Screw up the pumping union.
Disconnect a hose from a compensation tank of the brake system.
Check the effort made for a pedal. The free wheeling of a pedal of a brake has to make 1/3 courses of a pedal.
