21:16. Adjustment of the parking brake
Back brakes are automatically regulated therefore adjustment in use is not required. Adjustment needs to be carried out only after replacement of cables of the parking brake, supports, brake shoes or brake disks.
Check for lack of leak of brake fluid from the working brake system and its serviceability.
The parking brake needs to be adjusted after removal of the central console and facing of the parking brake.

Check of adjustment of a cable of the parking brake consists in serial pressing by an edge of the screw-driver of the lever of a cable of the parking brake from one emphasis (fig. 15-36) to other (fig. 15-37).
If in the course of check the lever of a cable of an opposite support moves from an emphasis, then the cable is excessively tense therefore it is necessary to adjust it.
Press several times a brake pedal against the stop.
Release the lever of the parking brake.

Special key 3343 weaken an adjusting nut of fastening of the compensator on draft of the lever of the parking brake until both levers of a cable of the parking brake do not concern an emphasis on a support (see fig. 15-34). Then tighten an adjusting nut until the beginning of movement of both levers of a cable. Two persons have to perform this work.
Move the lever of the parking brake on three clicks.
Rotate an adjusting nut of fastening of the compensator on draft of the lever of the parking brake until one lever on one support does not rise from an emphasis (see fig. 15-37).
Repeatedly check adjustment of a cable of the parking brake.
