3.14. Head of the block of cylinders

You carry out removal of a head of the block of cylinders on the cold engine.
The burned-through or defective laying of a head of the block of cylinders is determined by the following signs:
– deceleration of power of the engine;
– decrease in level of cooling liquid – comes out an exhaust pipe white steam;
– decrease in level of engine oil;
– existence in engine oil of cooling liquid: oil gains gray color and foams. At the same time the level of oil increases;
– availability of engine oil in cooling liquid;
– intensive allocation of bubbles from cooling liquid;
– reduction of a compression in two next cylinders of the engine.

Preventions
At installation of a head of the block it is necessary to use new bolts of fastening.
All clips and collars which at removal will be damaged or cut at installation of a head of the block need to be replaced with new.
At installation of a new head with the installed camshafts of a surface of contact between cams of the camshaft and pushers of valves it is necessary to oil engine.
Plastic caps for protection of open valves cannot be removed before installation of a head of the block.
When replacing a head of the block in the cooling system it is necessary to fill in fresh cooling liquid.
Before removal of a head of the block of cylinders be convinced that all hoses, pipelines and electric sockets are disconnected from it.

Left head of the block of cylinders
Removal
Install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT.
Make sure that the engine cold. Otherwise let's it cool down.
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery.
Merge cooling liquid.
Remove the left reception exhaust pipe.
Take off a gear belt from pulleys.
Remove a back casing of a gear belt.
Turn off a bolt of fastening of an arm of a pipe of the amplifier of steering.
Mark high-voltage wires in figures, remove them from spark plugs of 4-6 cylinders and take aside.
Weaken a collar, remove a hose from a pipe of the cooling system and turn out a bolt of fastening of a pipe.
Turn out bolts of fastening of a flange of a pipe of the cooling system to a back part of a head of the block of cylinders, supporting a pipe.
Disconnect all electric sockets from a head of the block of cylinders and take them aside.

Turn out bolts and uncover a head of the block of cylinders (see fig. 3.1-82).
Remove a maslootrazhatel.

In the sequence, the return to tightening, gradually weaken, and then turn out completely bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (fig. 3.1-84).
Remove a head of the block of cylinders and establish it on the soft basis.

Preparation of the left head for installation
Privalochny surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders have to be absolutely pure. For their cleaning use a firm plastic or wooden scraper. When cleaning be careful as it is very easy to damage aluminum alloy. Make sure that the deposit did not get to canals of the lubrication system and cooling. It is especially important for the lubrication system as the deposit can block supply of oil to engine details. If necessary clean channels.
Check privalochny surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders: on them there should not be notches, deep scratches and other damages. Small defects can be eliminated with machining. At major defects of a detail are subject to replacement.
Using a metal ruler and the probe, check planeness of privalochny surfaces.
If the deviation from planeness exceeds 0,1 mm, it is necessary to pereshlifovat a head. Height of a head of the block of cylinders

and (fig. 3.1-85) after machining has to make not less than 132,75 mm for the six-cylinder engine.
Clear openings under bolts in the block. Vvorachivaniye of a bolt in the opening filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.

The head of the block of cylinders delivered in the spare part can be used as with left, and on the right side. At the same time the cap in an end face of a head has to settle down from the forward party of a head (fig. 3.1-86). At installation of a cap apply AMW 188 001 02 sealant on its external surface. Establish a cap aflush with an end face of a head of the block of cylinders.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
Replace bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
At installation of a head of the block of cylinders it is necessary to replace with new samokontryashchiyesya of a nut and bolts which dragged on a dovorachivaniye on a certain corner, and also sealing rings and laying.
New laying of a head of the block of cylinders needs to be taken from packing just before installation.
Establish laying on the directing pins, at the same time the inscription "oben" has to be directed to a head.
If works on the valvate mechanism were carried out, turn manually a bent shaft on two whole revolutions to be sure that pistons did not hit against valves.

Before installation of a head of the block of cylinders you will expose the piston of the first cylinder and the camshaft in VMT in a compression step. At the same time big openings of the fixing plates on pulleys of camshafts have to be directed to each other (see fig. 3.1-52).

Record a bent shaft in this situation, having unscrewed the sensor of the moment of ignition from the block of cylinders and instead of it having screwed in the adjusting screw 3242 (see fig. 3.1-53).
Insert bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them by hand.
In the sequence shown in the figure 3.1-84 in two stages tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders:
The 1st – to tighten the moment 60 N · m;
– to tighten the 2nd on a corner 180 °.
Further additional pulling up of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders is not required.
Establish an inlet collector.
Establish a gear belt and adjust its tension.
Establish poliklinovy a belt.
Establish a reception exhaust pipe and check whether details systems of release are correctly installed.
Fill in cooling liquid.
Connect a wire of "weight" to the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio receiver and enter into it a code.
Lift glasses power windows up to an emphasis. Then press all switches of a window regulator once again, at least for 1 second, in the provision of closing for activation of the control unit of window regulators.
Determine time on hours.

Right head of the block of cylinders
Removal
Install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT in a compression step.
Make sure that the engine cold. Otherwise let's it cool down.
Switch off ignition and remove a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery.
Merge cooling liquid from the engine cooling system.
Remove the right reception exhaust pipe.
Take off a gear belt from pulleys.
Remove a back casing of a gear belt.
Remove an inlet collector.
Turn off a bolt of fastening of an arm of a pipe of the amplifier of steering.
Mark high-voltage wires in figures, remove them from spark plugs 1–3 cylinders and move aside.
Weaken a collar, remove a hose from a pipe of the cooling system and turn off a bolt of fastening of a pipe to the left head of the block of cylinders.
Turn off bolts of fastening of a flange of a pipe of the cooling system to a back part of a head of the block of cylinders, supporting a pipe.

Turn off a bolt of fastening of the directing pipe of the index (probe) of level of engine oil on a head of the block of the cylinder and take a pipe (fig. 3.1-87) up.
Disconnect all electric sockets from a head of the block of cylinders and move them aside.

Turn out bolts and uncover a head of the block of cylinders (see fig. 3.1-83).
Remove a maslootrazhatel.
In the sequence, the return to tightening, gradually weaken, then turn out completely bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (see fig. 3.1-84).
Remove a head of the block of cylinders and establish it on the soft basis.

Fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system.
Connect a wire of "weight" to the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio receiver and enter into it a code.
Lift glasses power windows up to an emphasis. Then press all switches of a window regulator once again, at least for 1 second, in the provision of closing for activation of the control unit of window regulators.
Determine time on hours.
