18:11. Back lower frame

Removal
The lower back frame is removed together with the main reverse gear, a rotary fist and levers of a back suspension bracket.
Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove a cap from the central part of a disk of a wheel.
On the car standing on wheels weaken bolts with a fillet of fastening of shaft of the drive to naves of back wheels.
Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove back wheels.
Remove back section of pipes of system of production of the fulfilled gases.
Remove the thermofilter of the back muffler.

By means of the special V.A.G 1752/1 device for compression of springs serially squeeze springs of a back suspension bracket and remove them (see fig. 12-18). Rounds of a spring should be taken reliably adaptation, to squeeze a spring from the opposite sides.

Prevention
The spring has big effort of compression therefore use only very reliable tool.

Release from clips and move towards a wire of ABS sensors (fig. 12-24).

Disconnect a cable 3 parking brakes from a support of a back wheel (fig. 12-25).
Take a cover 2 cables of the parking brake from an arm, with effort having moved a cable from a support.
Unscrew a bolt of 1 fastening of the shock-absorber to the cross lever.

Unscrew bolts of fastening of a back support (fig. 12-26). A soft wire, tie a support to a body. The support should not hang on a brake hose.

Check whether there are combination tags on a flange of the driveshaft and a flange of the main reverse gear (fig. 12-27). In the absence of tags put them.

Wooden wedge draw in the driveshaft to the thermofilter (fig. 12-28) up.
Unscrew bolts and remove the thermofilter located over the driveshaft.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of a flange of the driveshaft to a flange of the main reverse gear.
Release cables of the parking brake from holders and, moving them to a back part of the car, take from guides.
Unscrew a bolt and separate a guide of a cable of the parking brake.
Establish under the main reverse gear a jack with V.A.G 1359/2 adaptation and raise a jack so that the weight of a back lower frame with the main reverse gear was perceived by a jack.

Unscrew bolts of fastening of the lower back frame (fig. 12-29), lower a jack and remove the lower frame with the main reverse gear.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
At installation of the lower frame check that hoses of ventilation of the fuel tank were not pressed.
Screw in and tighten new bolts of fastening of the lower frame the moment of 150 N · m and then tighten them on a corner 90 °.
Establish into place and fix cables of the parking brake.
Install the thermofilter over the driveshaft.
In a flange of the main reverse gear clear a carving for bolts of fastening of a bent shaft.
At installation of the driveshaft for an exception of an imbalance combine tags on a driveshaft flange with tags on a flange of the main reverse gear (see fig. 12-27).
Check that details of system of release were located freely and did not concern a body.
