18.8. Back shock-absorber

Removal
Remove a back wheel.

Fig. 12-18. Use of special V.A.G 1752/1 device for compression of springs of a back suspension bracket

Using the special V.A.G 1752/1 device for compression of springs, serially squeeze springs of a back suspension bracket and remove their (fig. 12-18). When using special device for compression of springs you watch that, rounds of a spring were reliably taken, you make compression of a spring from the opposite sides.
The spring has very big effort of compression therefore use only very reliable tool.
Remove protection of an arch of a back wheel.

Jack with V.A.G 1359/2 adaptation installed on it raise the lower trapezoidal lever (fig. 12-19).
Unscrew a bolt 2 and nuts of fastening of 1 back shock-absorber and take the shock-absorber from under the car.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
Finally tighten bolts of the lower fastening of the shock-absorber after a raising a jack of the lower trapezoidal lever before compression of the shock-absorber on 40–50 mm.
