15.8. Removal and installation of the automatic transmission

Removal
Before a detachment of the rechargeable battery find out whether you have a code of turning on of the radio receiver.
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery.

Unscrew four screws and remove an engine casing (see fig. 3.1-41).

Weaken collars and remove the air branch pipe which is connecting a flowmeter of air and soaking up the pipeline (see fig. 3.1-42).
Disconnect the electric socket of the lyamda-sensor on the right side of a motor compartment, take a socket half from an arm and move it together with a wire down.
Disconnect the electric socket of the lyamda-sensor on the left side of a motor compartment, take a socket half from an arm and move it together with a wire down.
Unscrew nuts of fastening of the left and right reception exhaust pipes available from above.

Cars with system a cruise – control

Disconnect draft of management 1 (fig. 9-12) from the vacuum block.
Remove from the vacuum block a vacuum hose 3.
Unscrew a nut 2 and remove the vacuum block.

All models
Disconnect the electric socket of a spark plug of the fifth cylinder.
Disconnect the electric socket from the sensor of temperature of G2 cooling liquid.

Remove protection covers in a back part of a motor compartment (fig. 9-13).
Prepare the left adapter
10-222A/4 and the load-lifting device 10-222A with captures for support of the engine.
Establish an adapter 10-222A/4 and the load-lifting device 10-222A on racks and connect them together.
Fix capture of the load-lifting device on the engine.
Rotating the screw of the lifting device, pull capture so that the weight of the engine was perceived by the lifting device.

Unscrew screws and remove a casing of a poliklinovy belt (fig. 9-14).

Prevention
Chalk, marker or paint note the direction of rotation of a poliklinovy belt. If at installation poliklinovy the belt rotates in other party, it will lead to its destruction.

Face six-sided key on 10 mm weaken a tension of a poliklinovy belt, having turned the tension mechanism clockwise before combination of openings of 1 and 2 (fig. 9-15).
In fig. 9-15 the arrow showed the direction of rotation of a six-sided key for reduction of a tension of a poliklinovy belt.
Fix the tension mechanism in this situation, having inserted a steel core with a diameter of 5 mm into an opening.
Take off poliklinovy a belt from pulleys.
Remove forward pulleys.

Release clamps and remove the lower mudguard of a motor compartment (see fig. 3.1-1).

Unscrew two bolts and remove an arm of the lower mudguard of a motor compartment (see fig. 3.1-2).
Disconnect fastening of an air duct from the generator.

Unscrew a nut 1 and a bolt 2 fastenings of the generator (fig. 9-16).
Move the generator aside, disconnect from it wires and remove the generator.

Disconnect the electric socket from a starter, then unscrew a nut of 1 (fig. 9-17) and disconnect a positive wire from a starter.
Unscrew two bolts shown by shooters in fig. 9-17, fastenings of a starter and, being careful, remove a starter.

Through the opening which opened after removal of a starter unscrew three bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer (fig. 9-18). For access to each subsequent bolt it is necessary to turn a bent shaft of the engine in the direction of its working rotation on 1/3 turns. It is necessary to turn a bent shaft the central bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft.

Unscrew and remove thermofilters of the right and left shaft of the drive (fig. 9-19).
Unscrew drive shaft from transmission flanges.

From below the car unscrew nuts of fastening of a reception exhaust pipe to the forward muffler (fig. 9-20).

Unscrew nuts (fig. 9-21) of fastening of connecting couplings of pipes of system of release.
Being careful, remove a forward exhaust pipe with catalytic converter and a lambda sensors. Do not damage the wires going to a lambda sensors.
Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the thermofilter located behind the transmission.

Unscrew two bolts (fig. 9-22), the fixing arms for support of pipelines, to the automatic transmission.
Unscrew three bolts of fastening of the lower part of the transmission to the engine.

Unscrew a bolt of fastening of pipes to the transmission, move pipes aside and close the open ends of pipes traffic jams (fig. 9-23).
Disconnect the electric socket of the sensor of acceleration G38 and the multipurpose switch from the automatic transmission (see fig. 9-23).

Take a clamp, turn clockwise and disconnect the 8-contact electric socket (fig. 9-24) from the transmission.
Unscrew bolts 2 and remove a selector cable arm from the automatic transmission.
Unscrew a nut, remove a washer and, having pulled, remove a selector cable from a control lever the automatic transmission.
Release wires from clips on the transmission.
Fix special adaptation on a stationary jack, establish under the transmission and lift a jack so that the weight of the transmission was perceived by a jack.
In the absence of special devices for removal of the transmission support the transmission by a jack through wooden whetstone.

Unscrew bolts of fastening of a support 1 (fig. 9-25) of fastening of the compensator of torque of the engine and, moving a support, remove it.
Unscrew bolts and remove the left and right support of the transmission.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of the transmission to a back part of the lower frame. The lower frame has to settle down 80 mm below than a body. If necessary partially unscrew bolts of fastening of an arm of the lower frame.
Being careful, lower a back part of the transmission a little.
Move drive shaft forward and a soft wire tie them to a body.
Supporting a forward part of the transmission, unscrew the top bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine.

Take away the transmission from the engine, having pressed mount the hydrotransformer to the engine (fig. 9-26).
Being careful, lower the transmission and take it from under the car.
Fix the hydrotransformer on the engine.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
At installation of the engine it is necessary to replace with new samokontryashchiyesya of a nut and bolts which tightened a dovorachivaniye on a certain corner, and also sealing rings and laying.
At installation check existence of the aligning plugs defining interposition of the engine and transmission.

Check correctness of installation of the hydrotransformer. If the distance between a basic surface for bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer and a surface of a case makes 19 mm, so the hydrotransformer is installed correctly. At incorrectly installed hydrotransformer this distance makes about 14 mm (fig. 9-27). At the wrong installation of the hydrotransformer its leading part and the pump of the automatic transmission collapses.
Check that at installation of the transmission tubes, wires and electric sockets were not clamped.

Establish and screw in bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine (fig. 9-28).
At connection of tubes to the transmission it is necessary to use new sealing rings, previously having greased them with a thin layer of technical vaseline.
Replace bolts of M14 of fastening of the transmission to the lower frame.
Check installation of a cable of the selector.
Make sure that the system of release is correctly installed on suspension brackets and does not concern a body at its rocking.
Check oil level in the automatic transmission.
Check correctness of connection of electric sockets.
Connect a wire of "weight" to the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio receiver and enter into it a code.
Lift glasses power windows up to an emphasis, then press all switches of a window regulator once again, at least for 1 second, in the provision of closing for activation of the control unit of window regulators.
Determine time on hours.
