13.1. General information
The cooling system the closed liquid, includes the water pump with the drive an auxiliary belt from a bent shaft, the radiator fan with the thermoviscous coupling or the electric drive, a radiator, a broad tank, the thermostat, a heater radiator, hoses and switches. At launch of the cold engine cooling liquid does not come to a radiator as the valve of the thermostat is closed, and circulates on a shirt of the block and a head of the block of cylinders, then again comes to the pump. Thus bystry warming up of the cold engine is provided. When cooling liquid reaches a certain temperature, the valve of the thermostat opens and hot cooling liquid passes through a hose to a radiator and is cooled with a stream of counter air. The thermoviscous coupling of the fan of a radiator turns on depending on air temperature behind a radiator. At achievement of a certain temperature the valve in the coupling opens and the krylchatka of the fan is put in action.
Preventions
When opening a cover of a broad tank on the hot engine it is necessary to be careful as the coming-out vapors can lead to severe burns. For this purpose close a cover of a broad tank a thick layer of fabric and slowly unscrew a cover before emergence of the hissing sound. After the hissing termination slowly unscrew and uncover a broad tank.
Do not allow hit of cooling liquid on clothes and a paint and varnish covering of a body. Otherwise wash out a surface a large amount of water.
All clips and collars which when dismantling the cooling system will be damaged or cut at assembly need to be replaced with new. For fastening of collars of tape type it is necessary to use special passatizh of VAG 1921. All removed laying and sealing rings needs to be replaced with new. At assembly of an arrow on cooling system elements at their existence it is necessary to combine.
The merged cooling liquid needs to be collected and utilized.
