6.2. Removal and installation of the engine

Recommendations about removal of the engine
Before removal of the engine read all section.
If the engine is removed for repair, it is necessary to choose first of all the place for work, to provide space for service and storage of spare parts. It is recommended to repair the engine at car repair shop or in a garage with an equal horizontal floor with a pure hard coating.
Before removal of the engine wash out the engine and a motor compartment. For removal of the engine use the load-lifting mechanism allowing to lift safely the power unit.
If you remove the engine for the first time, it is necessary to invite the skilled expert. Some works should be performed with the assistant.

Prevention
All clips and collars which at removal of the engine will be damaged or cut need to be replaced on new at assembly of the engine.

The engine is removed without transmission forward.
The merged cooling liquid needs to be collected and utilized.
Before a detachment of the rechargeable battery find out whether you have a code of turning on of the radio receiver.

Removal
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery.
Remove a forward cross-piece.
Unscrew screws and remove the protection cover located behind the air filter.

Weaken collars and remove the air branch pipe connecting the air filter and an air pipe (fig. 3.4-1).
Unscrew screws of fastening of the case of the air filter.

Unscrew screws and remove an air pipe (fig. 3.4-2).

Weaken collars (fig. 3.4-3) and disconnect the cooling system hoses going to a heater.
Disconnect the vacuum hose and the electric socket of gray color located about heater unions on a partition of a motor compartment and take them aside.
Weaken a collar and disconnect a cooling system hose from the union behind the fuel pump.
Weaken collars and remove hoses from the distributive pipeline.
Weaken collars, remove hoses of ventilation of a case and take them aside.
Turn out a bolt and remove the delivery pipeline from the pump of the amplifier of steering.

Weaken a tension of a poliklinovy belt, having turned a key the tension mechanism clockwise (fig. 3.4-4).
Take off poliklinovy a belt.
Weaken collars and disconnect cooling system hoses from the engine.
Weaken collars and disconnect the giving fuel-supply line from the T-shaped splitter.
Turn out screws and remove a casing of the control unit of the engine. Release spring clips and remove consolidation of a partition in a back part of a motor compartment.
Remove protection covers in a back part of a motor compartment.
Lift the left casing closing the control unit up and turn out the back right screw.
Turn out the remained fastening screws.
Remove a control unit casing.
Disconnect electric sockets from the control unit of the engine and the control unit of the transmission, and also all electric sockets on a partition of a motor compartment.
Turn out screws and remove the basis of the control unit of the engine.

Turn out screws 1 and remove the block of the relay (fig. 3.4-5).
Disconnect the electric socket 2 and remove cases 3 and 4 of fuses.
Unscrew a clip of fastening of wires to a partition of a motor compartment and take wires aside.

Weaken a collar and disconnect an air branch pipe from the generator (fig. 3.4-6).
Disconnect the electric socket of green color from the electromagnetic coupling, release a clamp and move wires aside.

Unscrew bolts of fastening of the compressor of the conditioner to an arm, then, without disconnecting pipelines from the compressor, move it aside and fix on a body (fig. 3.4-7).
Disconnect electric sockets and unscrew a car height sensor arm under an arch of the left forward wheel.
Unscrew bolts and remove protection covers of shaft of the drive.
In the right part of a motor compartment disconnect electric sockets, release holders of wires, unscrew a nut of fastening of a tip of a wire of connection with "weight" and move wires aside.

Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove thermofilters of the right and left shaft of the drive (fig. 3.4-8).
Unscrew drive shaft from transmission flanges.

Unscrew a nut with a fillet of fastening of a finger of the spherical hinge of the lower lever of a forward suspension bracket. Using a stripper of spherical hinges, take a finger of the spherical hinge of the lower lever from a rotary fist (fig. 3.4-9).

Turn out nuts and bolts of fastening of the lower lever of a forward suspension bracket and remove it from an arm (fig. 3.4-10).
Move rotary fists from the car aside and fix by a soft wire drive shaft on a car body.
Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a suspension bracket of a reception exhaust pipe to an arm.
Unscrew connecting bolts of fastening of the left exhaust pipe.
Unscrew nuts of fastening of connecting clips of exhaust pipes and remove the left and right catalytic converters.
Unscrew bolts and remove the driveshaft thermofilter.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of a flange of the driveshaft, take away the driveshaft to the main transfer and arrange it on a cross beam.
Unscrew the control lever cable thermofilter the automatic transmission.
Disconnect a cable of control of the automatic transmission, previously having installed the selector lever in situation "P", and turn the connecting coupling of a cable clockwise.
Unscrew bolts and remove a forward arm of the lower mudguard of a motor compartment.

Unscrew bolts and remove a back arm of the lower mudguard of a motor compartment (fig. 3.4-11).

Turn out six nuts and bolts of fastening of support of the power unit (fig. 3.4-12).
Hook on captures of the load-lifting mechanism for the power unit and raise so that the weight of the power unit was perceived by the load-lifting mechanism.

Unscrew the lower bolts (fig. 3.4-13) of fastening of the engine to the lower frame. Make sure that all electric wires, hoses, branch pipes and pipelines are disconnected from the engine.
Turn out three bolts of fastening of the compensator of torque.
Raise the power unit and take it from a motor compartment forward.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
At installation of the engine it is necessary to replace with new samokontryashchiyesya of a nut and bolts which tightened a dovorachivaniye on a certain corner, and also sealing rings and laying.
At installation check existence of the aligning plugs defining interposition of the engine and transmission.
At connection of the engine with the transmission be careful – do not damage the sensor of frequency of rotation of the engine.
For fastening of the hydrotransformer to a drive plate it is necessary to use bolts of an original design.

Check correctness of installation of the hydrotransformer. If the distance between a basic surface for bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer and a surface of a case makes 19 mm, so the hydrotransformer is installed correctly. At incorrectly installed hydrotransformer this distance makes about 22 mm (fig. 3.4-14), at the same time the leading part of the hydrotransformer and the pump of the automatic transmission collapse.
Install the engine into place and, having shaken it here and there, provide the correct arrangement on support.
Install the driveshaft.
Establish and adjust a cable of control of the automatic transmission.
Fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system. Reuse of cooling liquid is not allowed if the head of the block of cylinders was removed or the block of cylinders was replaced.
Check whether elements of the exhaust system on suspension brackets are correctly established and whether they concern a body when rocking.
Fill in oil in system of the amplifier of steering and remove from it air.
Fill in oil in the engine.
Check correctness of connection of electric sockets.
Install the conditioner compressor.
Establish and adjust a tension of a poliklinovy belt.
Establish a forward cross-piece.
Connect a wire of "weight" to the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio receiver and enter into it a code.
Lift glasses power windows up to an emphasis. Then press all switches of a window regulator once again, at least for 1 second, in the provision of closing for activation of the control unit of window regulators.
Determine time on hours.
Before launch of the engine check existence and level of oil in the engine.
