17.5. Back shaft of the drive

Removal
Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove a cap from the central part of a disk of a wheel.
On the car standing on wheels weaken bolts of fastening of external CV JOINTS to naves of back wheels.
Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove back wheels.
Unscrew a bolt and remove the ABS sensor from a rotary fist.

Unscrew bolts, remove a support of a back brake and a soft wire tie a support to a body (fig. 11-9). The support should not hang on a brake hose.
Remove a brake disk.

Unscrew bolts and remove the protection cover of a brake disk (fig. 11-10).
Special adaptation, squeeze a spring of a forward suspension bracket and remove it (see fig. 11-10). When using special device for compression of springs reliably take rounds of a spring and squeeze a spring from the opposite sides.

Prevention
The spring has very big effort of compression therefore use only very reliable tool. Do not connect a spring by a wire at all.

Unscrew the internal CV JOINT from a flange of the main reverse gear.

Unscrew a nut of fastening of 2 (fig. 11-11) of an earring of the stabilizer and take an earring from a rotary fist.
Unscrew bolts 6 and a nut 3 lower fastenings of a rotary fist.
Unscrew a nut and, using a stripper, remove the operating draft 4 from a rotary fist.
Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the 5th external CV JOINT to a nave of a back wheel.
Reject the lower part of a rotary fist aside and remove a drive shaft.
It is impossible to lower the car on wheels at all with the removed by two or one shaft of the drive as it will lead to damage of wheel bearings. If it is necessary to install the car on wheels and to move it with the removed drive shaft, instead of a shaft install the external CV JOINT and tighten a bolt of its fastening the moment of 50 N · m.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
At installation it is necessary to use new самоконтрящиеся nuts and a bolt of fastening of the external CV JOINT to a nave.
Attach a drive shaft to the leading flange of the main reverse gear and tighten bolts the moment of 77 N · m.
Install the ABS sensor on a rotary fist.
Establish and tighten nuts and a bolt of fastening of the lower lever and the operating draft (see fig. 11-11).

Establish a spring of a back suspension bracket into place and remove from it adaptation so that its lower end correctly settled down in the lower plate of a spring (fig. 11-12).
Establish a support of a back brake.
Apply a thin film of lubricant on a fillet of the nave aligning a wheel disk. Establish a wheel and fix it by bolts. Lower the car and tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the required moment.
Screw in and tighten bolts of fastening of external CV JOINTS to naves of forward wheels the moment of 190 N · m and in addition tighten them on a corner 180 °. Tighten bolts of fastening of shaft of the drive to naves of forward wheels only on the car standing on wheels.
