17.4. Main reverse gear

Removal
In the presence unscrew four bolts and remove the cross beam located under pipes of system of release.
Unscrew nuts, the fixing connecting clips of exhaust pipes. Disconnect and remove back section of system of release.

Check whether there are tags on cardan to a shaft and a flange of the main reverse gear for their combination (see fig. 11-3). In the absence of tags put them.
Weaken bolts of fastening of flanges of the driveshaft to flanges of the transmission and main reverse gear (see fig. 11-3).

Wooden wedge draw in the driveshaft to the thermofilter (fig. 11-6) up.
Unscrew bolts and remove the thermofilter located over the driveshaft.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of a flange of the driveshaft to a flange of the main reverse gear.
In the presence release a clamp of fastening of a cable of the parking brake.
Remove the thermofilter of the left shaft.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of internal CV JOINTS of back shaft of the drive to flanges of the main reverse gear.
Establish under the main reverse gear a jack with V.A.G 1359/2 adaptation.

Unscrew bolts of fastening of the left support of the main reverse gear (fig. 11-7).

Unscrew bolts of fastening of 1 and 2 main reverse gears to a cross back beam of 3 (fig. 11-8).
Being careful, lower the main reverse gear and take it from below the car.

Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
In a flange of the transmission and main reverse gear clear a carving for bolts of fastening of the driveshaft.
Check that on flanges of the driveshaft there was no lubricant. Remove a protective film from sealing laying and establish laying on flanges by the sticky party to the driveshaft.
Lift the main reverse gear so that it was possible to attach back shaft of the drive to flanges of the main reverse gear. Screw in, but do not tighten completely bolts of fastening of shaft of the drive to flanges of the main reverse gear.
Lift the main reverse gear, establish into place and fix by bolts 1 and 2 on a cross back beam (see fig. 11-8).
At installation of the driveshaft for an exception of an imbalance combine tags on a driveshaft flange with tags on flanges of the transmission and main reverse gear (see fig. 11-3).
Screw in bolts of fastening of the driveshaft to flanges of the main reverse gear.
Tighten bolts of fastening of shaft of the drive to flanges of the main reverse gear.
Check oil level in the main reverse gear.
Check that the system of release was located freely and did not concern a body.
