17.1. General information

For the drive of back wheels on the car in addition transfer case, the driveshaft, the main reverse gear and back shaft of the drive is installed. For alignment of speed of rotation of forward and back wheels the interaxal differential which distributes torque between forward and back axes of the car is used. At pro-slipping of wheels of one of car axes the torque transferred to other axis automatically increases. At the same time coupling of wheels of the car with a paving improves. If coupling of wheels with a paving decreases, then also the torque transferred to this axis therefore resistance of the car to side drifts increases decreases. Irrespective of it the interaxal differential allows rotation of wheels with various speed that is necessary for normal work of anti-blocking system of brakes.
The torque from the transmission and the main transfer is transferred to wheels through four shaft of the drive. Each of shaft is inserted into a nave of a wheel and fixed by a nut.
The driveshaft connects the transmission to the main reverse gear.
As the driveshaft is the balanced knot, sticking of dirt to it is inadmissible. At a car raising for maintenance it is expedient to clear the driveshaft and to check its technical condition. Every time when the driveshaft is removed, for prevention of violation of balancing it should be established in the same situation.
Signs of malfunction of the driveshaft usually are noise or vibration at the movement of the car.
