16.2. Removal and installation of a shaft of the drive

Removal
Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove a cap from the central part of a disk of a wheel.
On the car standing on wheels weaken bolts of fastening of external hinges of a shaft of the drive to naves of forward wheels.
Lift a forward part of the car and fix it on supports. Remove forward wheels.

Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove thermofilters of the right and left shaft of the drive (fig. 10-2).
Unscrew bolts and disconnect internal hinges of shaft of the drive from the transmission (see fig. 10-2). Using a soft wire, suspend drive shaft to a body.

Take an ABS sensor wire from a clip of a support of a forward brake (fig. 10-3).
Take the ABS sensor from a rotary fist.

Unscrew a nut, take a bolt of fastening of spherical hinges of the top levers of a forward suspension bracket to a rotary fist (fig. 10-4) and remove spherical hinges from a rotary fist. Do not expand grooves in a rotary fist at extraction of the top cross levers.
Do not unscrew a bolt of fastening of a tip of steering draft and a bolt with a tetrahedral head as in this case adjustment of angles of installation of forward wheels will be broken.
Completely unscrew a bolt of fastening of a shaft of the drive to a nave of a forward wheel.
Reject the top part of a rotary fist aside, take a drive shaft from a nave of a forward wheel and remove a shaft from the car.
It is impossible to lower the car on wheels at all with the removed by two or one shaft of the drive as it will lead to damage of wheel bearings. If it is necessary to install the car on wheels and to move it with the removed shaft, instead of a shaft of the drive install its external hinge and tighten a bolt of fastening of the hinge the moment of 50 N · m.
       
Installation
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
At failure the external CV JOINT is subject to replacement. At installation on a shaft of the drive press the CV JOINT the plastic hammer before fixing by its lock ring.
At installation it is necessary to use new самоконтрящиеся nuts and a bolt of fastening of the external hinge of a shaft of the drive to a nave, and also the new collars and sealing rings delivered with repair set.
Establish a drive shaft in a nave of a forward wheel and screw on the leading flange of the transmission, having tightened M8 bolts the moment of 40 N · m, and M10 bolts the moment of 70 N · m.
Install the top cross levers against the stop in a rotary fist and fix them by a bolt and a nut, having tightened the moment 40 N · m (see fig. 10-4).
Install the ABS sensor on a rotary fist.
Apply a thin film of lubricant on a fillet of the nave aligning a wheel disk. Establish a wheel and fix it by bolts. Lower the car and tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the required moment.
Screw in and tighten new bolts of fastening of external hinges of shaft of the drive to naves of forward wheels the moment of 190 N · m, and then in addition tighten them on a corner 180 °. Tighten bolts of fastening of shaft of the drive to naves of forward wheels only on the car standing on wheels.
