At installation it is necessary to use new самоконтрящуюся a nut (fig. 14-3).

Removal
The steering column needs to be replaced at failure of the electric motor or sensor of an angle of rotation (ESP).
It is necessary to replace a steering column only assembled as its repair is not provided. Only replacement of the lock of ignition is possible.
Before a detachment of the rechargeable battery find out whether you have a code of turning on of the radio receiver.
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery.
Establish wheels for the movement directly forward.
Remove a steering wheel and the switch of adjustment of provision of a steering column.
Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove a decorative fringing of casings of a steering column.

Unscrew the screws fixing a decorative lower slip under the dashboard from the driver (fig. 14-4).

Unscrew screws and remove the lower overlay of a steering column (fig. 14-5).
Disconnect the electric socket or a cable from the control unit of the provision of a steering column located under a steering column.
On cars with the automatic transmission disconnect a cable from the selector lever lock, turn a key in the lock of ignition and remove a cable.
On cars with electric adjustment of provision of a steering column disconnect electric sockets from servomotors of a steering column.

Using the cord passed through an opening in the basis and openings in the top part of a steering column, rigidly connect among themselves elements of a column (fig. 14-6). It is necessary for prevention of separation of the basis and the top part of a steering column at removal of a column.

For transportation of a steering column without damages record among themselves its basis and the top part by means of a plastic core and a clamp (fig. 14-7).

Unscrew a nut of 1 (fig. 14-8) of fastening of the universal hinge of a steering column.
Weaken an eccentric bolt, turning clockwise, and take out it. Moving down, remove the universal hinge of a steering column.

On cars with the automatic transmission unscrew a steel bracket of fastening of a cable of the lock of the lever of the selector, fastening bolts. a steering column (fig. 14-9) also remove a steering column.


Check of technical condition
Check a steering column for absence of damage and wear.
Check smoothness and ease of rotation of a shaft of a steering column.

Measure distance and (fig. 14-10) between a mobile element and an arm of a steering column. The distance and has to be no more than 0,5 mm. If distance and more than 0,5 mm, so the steering column is worn-out and it needs to be replaced.

Installation
The new steering column is delivered in a transport state: the vzimoraspolozheny bases and the top part of a steering column are recorded with application of a plastic core and clamp (see fig. 14-7). After installation of a steering column it is necessary to shoot a clamp and a plastic core with the car.
Install a steering column on the car and screw in fastening bolts (see fig. 14-9) so that the steering column still could move.
Install the universal hinge on a steering shaft, insert an eccentric bolt, turn it counterclockwise, establish a nut on a bolt and tighten its moment 40 N · m (see fig. 14-8).
If elements of a steering column connected a cord, remove it.
On cars with the automatic transmission connect a selector lever lock cable.
On cars with electric adjustment of provision of a steering column connect electric sockets to servomotors of a steering column.
On cars with the automatic transmission establish a steel bracket of fastening of a cable of the lock of the lever of the selector.
Establish a casing and screw it.
Establish a decorative fringing of casings of a steering column.
Level the relative provision of a steering column and tighten bolts of its fastening the moment of 20 N · m.
Establish a decorative lower slip under the dashboard from the driver and fix it by screws.
Make sure that forward wheels are established for the movement directly forward.
Establish a steering wheel.
Check that the distance between casings of a steering column and a steering wheel made 3–4,5 mm.
Connect a wire of "weight" to the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio receiver and enter into it a code.
Lift glasses power windows up to an emphasis. Then press all switches of a window regulator once again, at least for 1 second, in the provision of closing for activation of the control unit of window regulators.
Determine time on hours.
